If parents know or remember that it is their responsibility to bring up their children, failing which the children won’t give them peace of mind in this world and in hereafter too, God would hold them to account, they would certainly sit up and support their children education. If God asked any government official whether they were asking parents not to support their children to have better religious and secular education, such a Minister would deny, saying that parents could contribute directly and by themselves without passing it through children or teachers. He or she would add that parents could identify the needs of schools and their children and support willingly.
The schools heads account to directors in education directorates, who account to regional education Director. The regional Director accounts to the Director General, who accounts to the Honourable Minister of Education and the Minister accounts to the President who accounts to the people of Ghana through Parliament and at elections. The bottom line is, whether the requisite resources are provided and in sufficient quantities for quality education delivery at the basic level? The education business is for all of us to put our shoulders to wheels.
